Toyota Innova HyCross flex-fuel launched in India: Check features

Toyota launched the world's first ethanol-powered car with a flex-fuel engine, based on the Innova HyCross model.

The car operates exclusively on ethanol (E100) and complies with Bharat Stage 6 (Stage 2) emission standards.

It can generate its electric power and run in EV mode, featuring a lithium-ion battery pack.

No official release date has been announced yet for the production version.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, present at the launch, advocates alternative fuels to reduce oil imports and pollution.

The flex-fuel model differs from the hybrid Innova HyCross, which has a 2.0-liter petrol engine and e-CVT transmission.
