US Open: Aryna Sabalenka poised for no. 1

Aryna Sabalenka is set to become the No. 1 player in the WTA rankings, taking over from Iga Swiatek.

Sabalenka showcased her dominant power-based game by defeating Daria Kasatkina in her first match as the future No. 1.

With Swiatek's fourth-round loss, Sabalenka is now the highest-ranked player left in the US Open.

Sabalenka will face Zheng Qinwen in the quarterfinals.

Madison Keys, a former US Open runner-up, will compete against Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova.
