Veteran politician Umesh Katti passes away at 61
Umesh Vishwanath Katti, Karnataka's Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Forest and Ecology, passed away in Bengaluru late on Tuesday night.
The 61-year-old BJP leader died in a private hospital following a massive heart attack.
His family sources said he had suffered heart attacks twice in the past.
Mr. Katti, born in 1961, was among the veteran leaders in Karnataka with nearly four decades in the Legislative Assembly.
He had fought nine elections and won eight of them.
