To me, the only caveat is that users need GPRS connection in order to use ngpay software. This partnership may not have an immediate benefit to redBus, but hopefully as GPRS penetration increases, they can piggyback on ngpay and get more distribution.
Web18 to launch Content portal, in.com
Web18 is all set to launch a content portal, IN.com that will be a pure horizontal portal – featuring right from news (a MyYahoo! kind module which allows users to add their own feeds), Music (tie-ups with saregama, Universal Music, Sony etc),Games, Email (Yahoo like tabbed interface, Gmail like right-side ads), Videos (content tie-ups with blip.tv, Reuters, iShare etc), Matrimonial section (tie-ups with BharatMatrimony, Humarijodi.com etc) and meta-search engine for hotel and Product search (Storeguru, Gadgets.in etc) [via]
Essentially, IN.com is more about content partnership and web18’s attempt to be the “home page” for several Indian netizens. Surely completes the full circle for web18, though creating a differentiation in this already crowded market (already have Yahoo India, IndiaTimes, Rediff and Google) is a huge challenge.
