He also ruled out a sale to Google or Facebook. Founders of Whatsapp are particularly averse to advertising. On the Whatsapp blog, its co-founder Jan Koum wrote:
Advertising isn’t just the disruption of aesthetics, the insults to your intelligence and the interruption of your train of thought.
We are simply not interested in any of it (Data), he added.
