The survey that took into account responses of almost 5,000 users, reveals that there is an increasing trend of mobile video sharing.
The use of IMs and social media platforms for video sharing are on the rise wherein Whatsapp outdoes Facebook as a medium of choice for Indians with 51% respondents sharing videos via Whatsapp, 45% on Facebook and 15% using G+.
Also, 21% of the respondents in India have agreed to have shared videos at least once a week while 14% of respondents agree to have shared videos at least once a month.
The criteria for mobile sharing in India is tied to quality wherein 62% of respondents agreed that HQ videos motivated them to share a video, whereas 25% agreed to the quality of content and the rest 24% agreed to celeb appeal & popularity of videos.
In India, User Generated Content generates maximum sharing followed by professionally created music videos, says the report. About 23% of respondents in India have shown preference to sharing user generated content of which 58% of the videos shared are in the ‘Funny Videos’ segment.
