Several days after crossing one billion user base milestone, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has raised the number of people that can be added in a group. In their latest update, version 2.12.437, the group chart participants have been increased to 256. This is a third increase since November 2014, when it was only 50.
WhatsApp users do not have download any additional update for this and the update is available on both iOS and Play Store.
