WhatsApp’s Free Voice-Calling Feature Starts Making Its Way To iOS Devices

Weeks after WhatsApp introduced its VoiP calling feature for Android users, the company has announced the roll-out of the feature for iOS users too.
The company has said the new functionality will reach all iOS users over the next few weeks, opting for a staggered release just as it did for Android.
WhatsApp also recently announced that it had reached the 800 million active monthly user mark, and its free voice-calling feature will help it massively in reaching the 1 billion user mark.
It isn’t known what percentage of iOS users make up that 800 million active users, but the Facebook owned company has always remained Android-first.
Other features rolling out with the iOS update is support for iOS 8’s share extension which allows users to send photos, videos and links from other apps through WhatsApp. It’s now easier to take photos within a chat, and also select multiple videos to share at once.
