PayUPaisa came out of beta in mid April 2013 with the intent of enabling (small) sellers to collect payments online. The vision of PayUPaisa is to get 1 million sellers online in a market which sees fewer than 10,000 active sellers.
One and half month down the line, this posts tries to measure if PayUPaisa is on track and if it is making such sellers/use cases happen which were not possible without the platform. Below are some of the unique use cases which have happened because of it.
Selling a Milking Machine online
Mr. Valarumsakthi deals in selling agriculture products and organic foods in Chennai. He had been looking for an online platform wherein he could educate his customers about new technologies in farming and do some monetization as well. Limited funds and complicated online processes hindered him to get a website. But with PayUPaisa unique online documentation process, no upfront fees and free tools like webstore – his registration was done in minutes and his store was live in day! Today he sells more than couple of offbeat products like a milking machine online every month. See more here.

Sachin and Rashmita, a married couple based out of Bangalore, are software engineers by profession and fashion lovers by heart. It’s their zeal for styling people which drove them to open an e-boutique on PayUpaisa by the name FabulousMe. Sachin’s words – “We got to know about PayUPaisa through google and its free offerings like ZERO set-up fee, free website and Email invoicing caught our attention. We have been successfully running our e-botique on PayUPaisa and have seen close 10 transactions in last twenty days. Neeraj Aggarwal is the lead vocalist of a Delhi based music band called PLOK. He was scouting for cost effective place to sell his music collection and band merchandising. He didn’t wish to invest in a fully fledged website and wait for payment gateway integration. Neeraj’s search ended on PayUPaisa. For him, the ease of use was PayUPaisa’a key USP and he faced no hassles while creating a free webstore. His webstore has attracted 20+ transactions since it went live in April 2013. More here. Having no setup fee is one of the biggest attractions for people operating their own website
Selling Lighting Equipment Online
Umesh Darwatkar owns a lighting equipment shop in Pune. In order to increase his business, he created a website called Indiaskylanterns.com and integrated with PayUPaisa for the payment gateway. “The customer support at PayUPaisa is highly supportive. They keep me informed of all updates regularly. Moreover the hassle free documentation and ZERO setup cost was like icing on the cake.
