Wooplr, a fashion discovery application for women, has today raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Anand Chandrasekaran, a former chief product officer of Snapdeal. The funding raised will be used for product development and marketing, the company said.
Bangalore-based Wooplr was founded in 2013 by Praveen Rajaretnam, Arjun Zacharia, Soumen Sarkar, and Ankit Sabharwal. The platform connects people with local businesses, based on interests, location, and social circles. Users can upload details about what they bought and where they bought it from, which in turn helps their community friends to discover places and shop from there.
The company claims to have 3 million women on the platform, of which the majority are from Bangalore, New Delhi, and Mumbai, generating 200,000 posts per month.
