Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, has launched its flagship handset, Mi3 in India. The Mi3 is priced at Rs 13,999, and spec wise, it’s the best you can get. Mi3 will go on sale from July 22nd.
The phone sports a 5-inch full HD IPS display. Powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, coupled with 2 gigs of RAM, the phone runs on Android 4.2 JellyBean out of the box. It sports a 13-megapixel shooter at the back, and 2MP camera upfront.
The 3,050mAh battery should be able to keep the juice flowing all day, whereas on the connectivity front, the phone has WiFi, 3G, WiFi direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and more, save for 4G LTE. Though lack of a microSD card is a downer, but again, when was the last time a flagship phone sported such thing?
Now here is one thing you should take note of. The specification of the device beats Nexus 5, and most of the flagship devices. On the spec sheet, there is no handset which could even come close to Xiaomi’s Mi3 at the given pricepoint. We believe that this phone is going to be a game changer.
The company wants to expand its market. It has been selling like hot cakes in China, and now wants to have its footprints in other Asia-pacific region as well. Last year, Vice president of Android product management Hugo Barra left Google to spearhead the operations at Xiaomi.
The company also launched two power-banks of 5,200 and 10,400 mAh capacities. Though, the price of the said devices hasn’t been made public yet.
