Xiaomi has dropped the price of its Redmi 2 smartphone by Rs 1,000 as it looks to keep up with newer devices from the competition.
The device is now available for Rs 5,999 in grey and white variants. The device packs a Snapdragon 410 SoC, 4.7-inch HD display, Dual 4G SIM support and an 8MP primary camera.
Xiaomi claims it passes on benefits of lower production costs to customers as a device gets older. The Redmi 2 can be bought on Flipkart, Amazon.in, Snapdeal and Mi.com.
