Yahoo takes on Google with its new ad – Google homepage ‘doesn’t looks back at you’

Yahoo, after burning $100mn in the last ad campaign has now launched a new campaign that takes an anti-Google stand.

Yahoo as a network vs. Google as a search engine – that’s the core  messaging in this campaign.

Yahoo is ofcourse promoting its new home page, which lets one customize/add apps (like Facebook/new site feed etc)  as oppsosed to Google, whose homepage doesn’t looks back at you.

The problem with this ad is that it gets lost in the comparison (I mean Yahoo is Yahoo, and Google is Google – why take Goog head on when you have lost the search war and finding it tough to find where you stand), though I liked the Y! punch – very surprising of Yahoo to take stand about anything.
