Consim Info has deferred it’s IPO plans by 2 years and has also scaled back its offline expansion plans by 75%..
Bharatmatrimony raised $11.75mn in early 2008 and their plans to setup offline centres hasn’t reaped them major money.
SaReGaMa goes aggressive on Digital Music Sale
In a move to increase the digital content to 60-65 per cent of its revenues (from 40 per cent now) in the next five years, the top music recording company is launching a website, tying up with telcos like Vodafone, Idea and Airtel for use of its music library and with cellphone manufacturers like Nokia for in-built sound tracks and albums.
Currently, Saregama’s revenue contribution from the physical format is 40 per cent. That will go down to just about 10 per cent over the next five years.(source).
Vodafone SMS for movie ticket booking
Vodafone Essar has launched an SMS service for movie enthusiasts in Kerala whereby customers would be able to book their movie tickets by simply sending an SMS. Customers would have to send an SMS “BALCONY” to 52627 to make their booking. The service will be charged at Rs 5/SMS. Complete booking details would be sent t o each of the customers through a response message (source)
