Yebhi, the horizontal ecommerce player, rebranded from Bigshoebazaar.com in late 2010. From selling shoes to apparels and accessories, and finally the holy grail of consumer electronics, Yebhi has come a long way.
Given the aggressive fund raising that it had been doing from 2010-13, Yebhi looked like a competent player in the market. Though there hasn’t been much positive news for Yebhi lately. With founders moving out and last known funding more than a year back, Yebhi seems to be losing the game.
We prepared this report based on data of 2nd Week of May from our data partners Findyogi.com – A buying decision platform for consumer electronics.
Catalogue size at Yebhi (2nd week of May 2014)
- Yebhi had 212 offers under Mobiles and Tablets category.
- They have 162 SKUs under these categories. Different colors of the same product are considered as single SKU.
- Laptops and Cameras already seem dead as there are no products currently available.
Catalogue size at Yebhi (28th May 2014) – As of publishing this report, the data looks even worse. There are only 9 offers in tablets category and 2 in mobiles category. Yebhi has already removed visibility of these categories from their website.
The traffic for Yebhi also doesn’t look pretty and seems to be on a continuous fall after Diwali of 2012. The situation improved slightly around the April 2013, the time when they got their bridge round of $12Mn, but nothing otherwise.
Yebhi seems to be focusing all resources towards the high margin apparels game for now. Do you think it hold its position given the aggressiveness of Myntra-FlipKart and Jabong in this category?
Next – In our next report we would look at Infibeam for Mobiles, Laptops, Tablets and Cameras category. Do read our previous reports on Flipkart vs Amazon.
