Your next iPhone could be produced by Tata; acquisition talks with Wistron underway

A deal to purchase Wistron’s manufacturing plant for up to $612.6 million is now being discussed between the Tata group and Wistron of Taiwan. Tata is considering acquiring the Karnataka-based Wistron facility.

Upon completion of the transaction, Tata will produce iPhones in India for the first time ever. In 2017, Wistron began producing iPhones in India.
