YouTube changes ad policy to allow more profanity in videos

  • With an update outlining a less stringent policy that will permit the use of strong and moderate profanity without running the risk of demonetization, the new profanity rules YouTube implemented late last year are being relaxed.
  • The initial rule would identify any video that contained coarse language in the first few seconds as being ineligible for advertising.
