Google unveils Shopping ads for YouTube which allows advertisers to automatically turn their merchant data into product cards. The company wants advertisers to promote their products on YouTube, allowing consumers to start purchasing directly from YouTube videos.
So, while watching a YouTube video, one might start seeing an info icon on the upper right hand corner of a video. When a user clicks on these cards, YouTube will display product ads; clicking on these ads will take the user directly to the merchant website.
Google says that the new ad service will run just like the Shopping ads on Google Search, but with an auction model that targets users based on context preferences and an audience’s nature.
