Expanding its presence in middle east market, Zomato – a restaurant and nightlife guide has launched its services in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. In September, Gurgaon based startup had forayed into international market with its Dubai launch.
With Zomato’s launch in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, the middle east section of Zomato (including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah) boasts more than 6,500 restaurants ranging from cafeterias to restaurants at 7 Star Hotels. And like what the site does with Indian businesses, the company provides scanned menus, photos and coordinates for most of the restaurants listed on Zomato Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah along with other relevant updates such as ratings, reviews and contact details.
Currently, Zomato claims to have more than 6 million users every month who use the site to discover the best places to dine around them. In India, Zomato had extended its presence within India from 10 to 12 cities with the launch of its Lucknow and Indore sections. The company had recently launched social features on the site (read: Explained: The Technology implementation behind launching Social Features).
