zoomBangalore based car rental service Zoom Car pvt Ltd has raised $ 200,000 in a fresh round of funding. Active angel investor angel investor Rajkumar Elango has infused the funds states a report  by Techcircle.

The company was planning to raise a total of $400,000 as we reported earlier when former United States treasury secretary Larry Summers joined the Zoom’s advisory board. Before this round, Zoom had raised $325,000 from marquee investors.

The market for car rental services in India is getting competitive. Recently, there were murmurs of US based car hire company Uber,coming to Bangalore. Last month, online aggregator for cab rental services, Taxiforsure, raised $4 mn in a series A round.

Maheshwari Electronics partners with Exset B.V.

Maheshwari electronics and Cable TV Pvt. Ltd, a Bangalore based firm has made an agreement with Netherland based Exset B.V, a broadcast technology and solutions company.

According to agreement Exset B.V. will provide DMS,CAS and Middleware to  Maheshwari Electronics for its  customers and cable operators. Exset B. V. will be the content protection and monetization partner with Maheshwari electronics.

DMS is a software based  content publishing solution which offers viewers a series of text services.These services are typically Government information services, tele-shopping and magazine pages.

With this Maheshwari electronics will also be able to offer  new services to its customers in a one way broadcast environment; these could include magazine, shopping, government apps, the company said.

MapmyIndia to use ArcGIS platform

MapmyIndia will migrate their data production environment to the ArcGIS platform, allowing it to leverage Esri’s cartographic production tools and workflows to expand its range of products, the company said. MapmyIndia can take advantage of Esri’s development environment, facilitating, for example, the creation of custom server-based GIS applications or embedding GIS functionality into existing applications.

Esri serves its software to more than 300,000 organizations worldwide.
