Seven Common Emotional Issues
Emotions can affect how you think or what you feel. Knowing and accepting their cause is the first step towards getting better and it’ll help you work on it. Understanding your emotions can give you better emotional responses. There are different types of emotional issues but here we’ll talk about seven of them
Repression/emotional blocking
Repressing an emotion means you know it’s happening but you don’t want to or don’t know how to express it.
- In a way, emotional blocking means not understanding your emotion. You repress your feelings because you think you shouldn’t be feeling them. This confusion makes you lose emotional freedom.
Searching for pleasure
Unlearning to move on can help you find the answers to whatever’s causing your pain.
- So, it’s time to train your emotional intelligence
- If someone hasn’t experienced unpleasant emotions, they’re on a quest for pleasant emotions
- Practice mindfulness meditation
Emotional depersonalization
This defense mechanism stops you from connecting emotionally to someone or something, like a tear in your emotional cycle avoiding what’s hurt you in the past and stop you from enjoying life.
- We need to understand how destructive emotions affect us and constructive emotions can help us, so that we can mantain our peace of mind.” -Dalai Lama
Conflictive emotions
These conflicts can be hard to identify because they’re not visible, but they can be felt.
