After tasting success in focus group studies, DataWind is soft launching it standalone mobile app that provides unlimited basic internet access n any android device for a year.
Users need to download the app and pay online or purchase an internet access prepaid card, which will be available at retail locations of DataWind’s channel partners.
Covered by 18 U.S. and international patents, DataWind’s breakthrough web delivery platform will give users access to DataWind’s basic Internet experience, which reduces up to 97% the amount of data needed for web browsing, providing a broadband-like experience on any network — even on legacy 2G networks that are still prevalent in India.
DataWind intends to offer its stand-alone mobile app for between Rs 99 and Rs 150.
