European Parliament votes to ban sales of new gas cars by 2035

  • The European Parliament voted in favor of a Council agreement to ban sales of new gas cars by 2035.
  • Targets for 2030 have been revised and companies must sell at least 25% zero-emissions cars (and 17% vans) to qualify for incentives between 2025 and 2029.
  • Incentives will be discontinued in 2030.
