Five Gram Panchayats In Nagpur To Go Digital

Under the Digital India scheme, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday announced the plan of digitizing five village gram panchayats in Nagpur district.

He said, “The journey has begun from Nagpur. We are going to digitalise 28,000 village gram panchayats across Maharashtra.”

The digitization will include 4-Mbps connectivity with WiFi for e-education, e-health and e-marketing initiatives.

By August 2016, 776 gram panchayats of Nagpur will be put on the national optic fibre which will make it the first digitally smart district, the Chief Minister added.

Khandala, Tarodi, Khasala, Dabha and Vihirgaon are the five villages that have been declared ‘Digital Gram’.
