India beats China to become world’s largest 2-wheeler market

As per Siam (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), India has overtaken China to become world’s largest market for two-wheelers.
In India, a total of 17.7 million two-wheelers were sold last year (i.e over 48,000 units every day).
In China, sales of 2 wheelers are banned in few cities and the country is largely promoting electric vehicles, while for India the rural and tier-2/3 markets have opened up (add city traffic to the reasons of buying a 2-wheeler as well) (via).
