Denying the rumors about Telenor exiting from India, the Group has announced that they will stay invested in Indian market and plans to get the Indian venture, Uninor operationally positive in three years.

MTS Launches Smartphones
MTS has launched smartphones targeted towards youth starting from INR 4,999.
MTS Phone, Buzz is priced at Rs. 4,999 and offers Facebook as well as Twitter support and has expandable memory upto 4GB. MTS Phone, Alive supports FB, Twitter; has Opera browser preinstalled and costs Rs. 6,000. Ivory, another phone costs Rs. 13,500/ (access to more than 50 TV channels) and supports push mail services as well.
Please note; Japanese consumer company, Akai too has launched smartphones in India.
E-Platform Launched for Ticketing Agents
Travel Agents Association of India has launched SystemOne, an online platform that would enable air ticket bookings only (for now) and later on enable other services like car rental, train reservations, hotel bookings and other hospitality services [source].
TRAI to issue guidelines on unsolicited calls
TRAI will soon issue guidelines for unsolicited mobile calls and SMS.
It is true it (DNC) did not work (do not call registry). We are looking at that. I do not want to give any points at this stage. We have to strengthen the do not call registry so that it is efficient and effective. Wait for few days. By the end of this month we will have necessary regulation in the place – source.
