The decision comes as Apple is fast-forwarding its production plans for both iPhones and iPads in India and Vietnam in the aftermath of China protests over zero-Covid policy which has badly impacted its supply chain.
Analyst Ming-chi Kuo said Apple plans to ship between 40 and 45 percent of its iPhones from India, up from the current single-digit percentage.
