According to data by Controller General Patents Designs and Trademarks, out of 1.45 lakh patents filed in India in the last three years, only 27% were filed by Indians.
This gives a serious question if Indians are losing to Non-Indians in research, despite the huge grants, mentors and bigger assistance from government.
