Reports suggest that Facebook is planning to rebrand both Instagram and WhatsApp. As per the sources, after rebranding these applications will be known as “Instagram from Facebook” and “WhatsApp from Facebook.”
The company wants to make it obvious for the users that these products and services are backed by Facebook. Apart from their original names, it is not clear if they will get any additional features as of now.
Experts feel that this move may backfire since Facebook has been involved in multiple privacy scandals.
