TikTok is a serious phenomena in India and while it lies on the other side of softporn, its success is being debated and argued by many (including politicians).

As a platform with 25 million users, it is really important to be responsible with the kind of content which is being shared on the platform. We have zero tolerance towards sleazy and pornographic content which is being monitored by an entire team throughout the day. We are a platform for all age groups and, hence, have to be careful towards people’s sentiments. While free speech is also respected, we respect the government and our society’s views on what sort of content should be shared.

Chinese platforms like TikTok might be available in India, and try and make inroads in Tier II and Tier III cities, but they will never be able to understand our culture and our societal values, something which Roposo holds very important.
