With a vision of converting 2-lakh two-wheelers and 50,000 three-wheelers to electric by the year 2020-21, Mahindra has launched its Treo series of electric vehicles in Kerala.
The Treo and Treo Yaari are commercial EVs available at 2.43 lakh and 1.62 Lakh respectively. The price of both these vehicles include the Rs. 30,000 FAME subsidy benefit offered by the government.
The company has also announced a Rs 100-crore investment for building up an R&D and product development center. Mahindra also plans to work with partners in the state to develop charging infrastructure and sees scope for EVs in tourist locations and corporate parks in Kerala.
