Wooqer is a startup targeting the promotions market across the whole value chain of a product, from manufacturer to consumer. They help manufacturers get in touch with brands, help brands design better promotional campaigns and help retailers to announce offers and sales to consumers and lastly giving consumers a structured look at the offers and promotions.
For consumers, Wooqer is a one stop shop to browse all the promotions and sales running in your city. Wooqer has a well structured data with a good UI. The team has taken the pain of putting pics for all the offers that are listed. Wooqer currently covers Bangalore and Pune while 34 more cities are on the cards.
The consumer side of the business is more like what SaleDekho is doing. What i am skeptic about in this model is whether the consumer should go out and find the deals or the deals should find the consumer. You might have searched for coupon codes of specific web-stores but have you ever searched for “denim discounts Bangalore”?
Wooqer is seed funded and is generating revenues through the B2B services. The startup started in late 2008 and boasts of a good set of clients across the value chain.
